Human Osteology

Description

Advanced method and theory in human osteology. Coursework is a combination of seminars and practical workshops. Seminars cover the areas of biocultural frameworks, ethics, taphonomy, mortuary analysis, analysis of populations and individuals and biomolecular approaches. The practical sessions involve working with human remains developing skills in the basics of identification and description. Work is focused upon method and theory as applied in the southern hemisphere. Assessment includes producing the sort of report and analysis needed by professionals in this area.
