Description

This course builds on the knowledge you have gained over the previous years of studying Chinese and aims to help you develop independent and confident skills as a learner and user of Chinese in a Chinese speaking environment. You will read texts covering various aspects of Chinese society, culture and literature and through these texts will strengthen your knowledge of Chinese grammar and vocabulary, develop your skills in both written and spoken Chinese, and will help you to gain some understanding of aspects of style in Chinese.  Readings will include both advanced texts written for learners of Chinese, and authentic texts written for Chinese readers.

Important information
Students who study Chinese for the first time at the University of Auckland must complete the Language Ability Declaration and may be called for an interview and a placement test. Failure to complete the language ability declaration will result in deletion of the enrollment.
