Language Acquisition I

Description

Advanced language practice in French, with emphasis on close-reading, textual summary and synthesis of both aural and written texts. French techniques of writing will be studied and students will apply these in written assignments.

Course aims & objectives

Features of the French language will be presented, in French, and practised in the four skills areas of reading, listening, speaking and writing; by the end of the course, in order to obtain a pass grade, students must demonstrate an overall command of both oral and written French equivalent to DALF C1 language competency on topics covered in class.

Coursework includes both written and online multimedia assignments, oral classwork, as well as final oral and written tests.
