Special Topic: The Drama of "Sturm und Drang"


Description

In the late 18th century the “Sturm und Drang” movement, a new generation of rebellious young authors (including Goethe and Schiller) made their appearance in German literature. This course aims at familiarising students with the historical and political context as well as the aesthetics of the time by examining some of the most important plays of modern German literature.
