Description
Highlights Italy’s distinctive film tradition from the post-World War II period to the present through the examination of a variety of film genres and filmmakers. This course considers the sources, complexities and resonances of these films and the ways in which they refer to historical, social and political issues as well as to cinematic conventions. Lectures are in English, all films are subtitled and no knowledge of Italian is necessary for students enrolled in this course. This course does not count for a major or minor in Italian.
