SOCIOL 312

Urban Futures

Description

Informed by Critical Disaster Studies and Critical Future Studies, this course surveys our prospects for living equitably and sustainably on an urban planet. Cities are overproducers of social and environmental problems and must therefore become the principal sites for their solutions. We will look beyond sociology to other disciplines, Indigenous Knowledge and speculative fiction to help generate potential answers.
