PHIL 321
Chinese Philosophy
Description
This course both introduces ideas from the Chinese philosophical tradition and examines them through the lens of the contemporary philosophical discussion. Sharing lectures with PHIL 234, students read and discuss texts from the Chinese philosophical tradition, but also read a selection of contemporary philosophical articles about them. In this way, they acquire a general acquaintance with philosophical ideas from this tradition, and how to engage with the philosophical discussion of those ideas in the present era.
