Reading Ethnography


Description

Ethnographic texts are the major form in which social and cultural anthropological research is presented. This course considers diverse approaches to ethnographic writing. Key topics may include anthropology’s major premises, anthropological tensions between sameness and difference, relationships between anthropology and ethnography, research and its literary forms, the researcher in the text, ethnographic strategies.
