Faith and Festival in Asia

Description

A broad-based introduction to religious life in East and Southeast Asia with special focus on ritual life, ceremony and identity construction rather than canonical texts and theology. Religion at the personal, family, community and state level are all considered, with examples from "animism", shamanism, Daoism, Buddhism, Shinto, Islam, Asian Christianity and their myriad combinations.
