Beginning Modern Chinese 1

Description

Introduces students to modern Standard Chinese (Mandarin, Putonghua ) through exercises and activities to develop speaking, listening, reading and writing skills. Also introduces the social and cultural background of the language.

This course is designed to provide basic written and spoken skills in modern standard Chinese and is designed for students who have little or no prior knowledge of the language, normally not higher than NCEA 1.  If you are unsure, please check Which Chinese language course should I enrol in?
