Description

This course critically examines the most updated and forefront research on the acquisition of Chinese as a second or additional language.

It includes topics to rediscover how Chinese pronunciation, grammar, characters and culture are learned by young, adult and heritage learners of Chinese in the multilingual and multicultural social contexts. The course discusses new language acquisition theories and cutting-edge reseach instruments that allow students to effectively measure, observe and assess Chinese langauge acquisition in the digital era.
