Description
In recent years, a number of new practices have emerged in the field of development, among them the deployment of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs), Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs), the participation of multinational corporations and social entrepreneurship. In this course, we will examine the changed landscape of development, the reasons for these changes as well as their results. The particular focus of the course will be on financial inclusion initiatives, foremost among them microfinance, and their impact on poverty alleviation.
