TV Studio Production: The Interview

Description

This workshop based course introduces students to a range of the technical and journalistic skills required in television studio production, single camera field production and digital editing. The central focus is on the craft of the television interview. Students operate in small production teams planning, writing and directing their own multi-camera magazine programme which is recorded "live" at the end of the semester. The course is internally assessed.

NB: enrolment is limited to 24 students, with selection criteria as follows: 1) GPA in FTVMS courses; 2) quality of two proposed interview subjects; 3) portfolio of audiovisual creative work; 4) personal statement of intent; 5) evidence of relevant practical experience.
