German Language Introductory 1

Description

Written and oral use of German for students who have no previous knowledge of the language or who have fewer than 16 credits in Level 2 NCEA German. The approach is communicative, with German used wherever possible as the language of instruction. The course aims to provide students with a sound basic knowledge of spoken and written German. Prepares students for the Goethe Institut’s Start Deutsch certificate, which is at proficiency level A1.

Class limits information for 2017:

Enrolment in GERMAN 101G is limited to 65 students in Semester One and 65 students in Semester Two, with selection based on: 1) Language Ability Declaration indicating little or no prior knowledge of German; 2) first in, first enrolled.

Enrolment in GERMAN 101 is limited to 40 students in Semester One and 40 students in Semester Two, with selection based on: 1) Language Ability Declaration indicating little or no prior knowledge of German; 2) first in, first enrolled.
