Topics in Japanese Linguistics


Description

A study of some issues in Japanese linguistics. Topics will include but will not be limited to: semantics of verbs, transitivity, argument structure, subject and topic, tense and aspect, transitive/intransitive contrast, passivisation and causativisation, perspective and ellipsis.
