KOREAN 201

Intermediate Korean 2

Please note: this is archived course information from 2017 for KOREAN 201.

Description

Welcome to Korean 201!

This course is a continuation of Korean 200.

Korean 201 lessons are geared toward enabling students to communicate effectively and appropriately in a variety of social contexts. With each taught grammatical form, stimulating exercises relevant to students’ lives and authentic multimedia materials will be utilised. Examples include video clips from popular Korean dramas (eg, My Love from the Stars) to enhance the learning experience.

As students gain a basic understanding of the grammatical forms and vocabulary, the course coordinator will motivate them to develop the skills they gained in drill exercises in a larger communicative project, such as an interview or a skit, to be confident in the language to converse independently from a set dialogue laid out in the textbook. The course coordinator will also integrate cultural components into the language instruction to give students vivid and realistic glimpses of modern Korean culture.
