Second Language Acquisition

This course provides an advanced study of current theories of second language acquisition and research that have examined both instructed and naturalistic acquisition. It includes an independent study of a range of theoretical approaches to the phenomena observed in second language acquisition. Issues in second language acquisition are examined through critical essays, drawing on contemporary research on how languages are learned.
