Description
Examines traditional and contemporary Maori performing arts and covers all aspects of Maori performance including whakaeke (entry), waiata moteatea, waiata-a-ringa (action song), poi, haka, whakawatea (exit). There is a strong practical element to the course as well as an analysis of social, cultural and political contexts of the songs and performance.
