Global Civil Society
Global Civil Society Introduces students to debates concerning the nature of world politics and the future of international relations theory. Considers how norms, interests, identities, cultures and non-state actors really matter in understanding conflict and cooperation in global politics. Of interest to students not only of IR theory but also cultural difference, the politics of ideas and identities and the impact of social movements.
NB: enrolment is limited to 25 students, with selection criteria as follows: 1) admission to a postgraduate programme in Political Studies or Development Studies; 2) admission to the MProfStuds in International Relations and Human Rights; 3) results in previous tertiary study in relevant subjects.
