From Dresden to Drones: The Ethics of War

Description
This course will focus on the ethical dimension of contemporary conflict, enabling students to critically assess debates about drone warfare, counterinsurgency and the politics of killing. Students will draw on a range of theorists including Michel Foucault, Giorgio Agamben and Judith Butler, whilst looking at examples from Afghanistan, Israel-Palestine, Vietnam and Iraq.
