SCREEN 300

Documentary Video Making

Please note: this is archived course information from 2017 for SCREEN 300.

Description

A practical production course in which students work individually and in groups to develop, shoot and edit short documentaries.

Class limits information for 2017: Enrolment is limited to 15 students. Students are selected by a Screen Committee: students must have successfully completed the Screen Minor (Screen 200/Screen 201) with a B average and above and submitted an application to the Screen Committee for the Screen Major (Stage 3xx). This application will include certain questions and work samples.

Justification: This is a resource-heavy course (camera/sound equipment, check-in/out and tech maintenance, access to limited editing and audio suites) as well as project heavy. As an experiential learning course with intensive workshopping, demonstrations and project based teaching, small class sizes are required to adequately attend to each student.
