After Neoliberalism?

Description

Through an analysis of the works of Polanyi, Foucault, Harvey and other major theorists, this course provides an historically grounded, theoretical examination of the development of neoliberalism to the present, and of its prospects. In addition to considering the international development of (neo)liberal approaches, we will look more closely at recent shifts in social policy in New Zealand, and to the approaches of international development agencies to state building, poverty reduction and livelihoods in South East Asia.
