Research Process in Social Sciences


Description

Analysis and discussion of the nature and issues of the research process including: research paradigms and strategies; the identification of research topics and questions; the review and critique of literature; a survey of research methodologies and when it is appropriate to use them; the development of funding applications; the ethical requirements for research, including awareness of Māori research protocols; the analysis of data; and the writing of research reports and theses. The focus is on students acquiring an advanced understanding of the research process together with skills to initiate, design, conduct and report their own research projects.
