The Bible in Popular Culture

Please note: this is archived course information from 2012 for THEOLOGY 101.


An exploration of biblical themes, images and metaphors in contemporary film, music and cultural arts through which religion and culture intersect. It develops tools appropriate for analysing popular culture, as it moves from the local to the national to the global.

Delivery format:
Course delivery comprises three hours of lectures each week as below:

Two hour lecture each Wednesday.
One hour lecture each Friday. Lectures contain examples from music, film, art, and television.
