Stained glass

The use of stained glass is another pictorial medium which can be analysed in a similar way to a painting. In this case the complexity of the medium sets certain constraints on what the artist can achieve, as the 'leading' or supports which hold the glass in place create distinctive design elements. The transparency of the medium, which allows light to shine through it, adds additional lustre to this medium.
